Favourite special guest post is Gordon MacLachlans’, mainly because i love all the same albums. As for Cat Power – You are Free is my fav as that was my introduction to her

Hard to beat Vorn Colgan’s contribution to 5 albums. Best thing I’ve read in years. Favourite Cat Power is Sun, a grower. Greatest was ok too.

Congrats Michael – you are the lucky winner

Gordon MacLachlan’s top 5 is pretty hard to beat, but Mark Turner comes a close second. My first Cat Power record was Moonpix, which is incredibly beautiful, but a little melancholic for every day – You are Free has the best sing-along songs!

Richard Langston’s. And What Would The Community Think because it reminds me of someone who gave me a mixtape when I was 17.

Jeff Boyle – not only a man of taste but also a total GC.

Wilson Parking’s selections were utterly fabulous and impeccably argued. The world is richer for them.

    Luke Sole. 2 reasons.
    1. The humour involved. Caused me to laugh out loud.
    2. The albums involved. Caused me to seek out my old copies!
As for Cat Power, favourite would have to be The Greatest, followed closely by Jukebox. Her rendition of New York New York is amazing!

I read through them all, saw a lot of great stuff, but settled on Kirsty Quested’s selection for its unpretentious charm. Solid stuff, could be mocked for being a bit too everywhere, but doesn’t deserve it, and it’s all music that can make me smile. That’s not to say any of the others are pretentious, it’s just to say Kirsty’s list charmed my socks off.

In terms of my favourite Cat Power album, it’s The Covers Album. I love hearing a modern take on a song like Salty Dog.

George Henderson purely for The Clientele. You Are Free purely for being my introduction.

Okay – hard to pick a winner but I’m going to pick Michael Hollywood. Well done that man
