I loved The Triplets of Belleville but have yet to see The Illusionist.
This 2010 animated film is deemed a modern classic. The score is by Chomet – who also co-wrote the screenplay, directed, edited and produced the movie.
There’s a strong set of animated film’s in this year’s program. And The Illusionist will certainly be one of the highlights. Can’t wait! After this it’s the Easter Break. The Society’s next screening after The Illusionist will be another animated film – the earliest surviving example of the form, 1926’s The Adventures of Prince Achmed. That’ll run on Monday, April 9.
