Wellington Film Society: Preview – Cover Girl (December 3)

Well, we made it – this week is the final screening for 2018 of The Wellington Film Society. What a year. A huge range of amazing films, all shown on one of the biggest screens in one of the greatest movie venues in this part of the world.

It has been a year of transition for the Society. The closure of the Paramount created uncertainty but the new partnership with The Embassy continues on over into 2019. So committed fans and potential new members alike can look forward to 30+ movies across March-November in 2019.

The penultimate screening for 2018 was The Storm, a modern classic by Japanese filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda.

The final screening for 2018 is the Charles Vidor-directed, Rita Hayworth and Gene Kelly-starring classic, Cover Girl from 1944.

See trailer below and full notes here.

Congrats to the Wellington Film Society for a year of great film and often spectacular turnouts; cheers to all members for their attendance.
