25 Year Collection
Kiwi country band The Warratahs started out with the intention of playing some of their favourite music. The shelf-life? A couple of weeks.
That was 25 years ago. So this compilation collects the best music from across the band’s six albums and offers a five-track EP of new recordings. The Warratahs has become an occasional project over the years, lead singer and writer Barry Saunders continues to release solo albums but there is something very special, always, about the sound of The Warratahs – our great country music band.
Here you’ll hear Hands Of My Heart and Maureen, Bruno’s Last Ride and St Peter’s Rendezvous. There’s something so intrinsically, importantly Kiwi about this band. And yet it always feels like earnest, thoughtful country music that deserves to hold its head high on the world stage.
