Linda Ronstadt, Greatest Hits (1976)
Linda Ronstadt – always thought she was pretty great really, but mostly from her collaborations and work as a harmony singer, not so much for her own recordings. I mean, I knew the big radio hits, sure. And either liked them, or didn’t hate them. But it was a lot of her work that was even slightly under the radar that I really liked. Reading her memoir recently, a really great book by the way, I figured I should get hold of this comp – I’d never owned it. Always used to stock it and sell it as a CD in stores, and have thought about picking up the record from time to time. I have another Ronstadt comp – a double – but it’s missing one of the LPs. I hate that. So I bought this – chuck-out bin, $3 or something. Plays fine. And all those really great songs – big hits. She was pretty wonderful.
Sample Track: Different Drum
