Los Lobos, Tin Can Trust (2010)
Man I love Los Lobos – one of the best bands ever. And this album was my re-introduction to the band after a bit of time off. It was their first album in a bit, and it arrived by surprise – just part of a pile of things to review. And it hit me straight away, had everything in it that I wanted/needed from a great record and from a Los Lobos record (they’re often one and that same). And it sent me back through all that other magical work. I had thought of buying the LP for a bit – but it was only just recently that I finally picked this up, and promptly fell in love with the record all over again. I wrote, recently, about David Hidalgo as part of a series discussing great guitarists and it was reading that back, proofing it ready to post, that reminded me I must go buy this record. See! Music Writing Does Work. It can mean something. It prompted me to go out and buy this. I wish I was joking. But I really mean it; I really am that much of a chump.
