The Vinyl Countdown # 800

The Spinners, Motown Superstar Series, Vol. 9 (1979)
Spinn-spinnI love The Spinners – not sure when I first heard them. But I know that a few years ago now I picked up a double compilation from the library to, er, give a spin. And that sold me. Realised I knew most of the songs already, from the radio – from my folks’ records, from growing up hearing them on TV and in movies; from everywhere. And I knew (and love) the disco remixes and the version of the group that turned toward disco. But the classic Detroit/Motown, Philly Soul and pop songs, that’s what I love the most. And that’s what you have hear. That sort of thing. So good. This was a fiver just recently up in Auckland. And glad to have it. Have some other Spinners records, but this one’s a good cheapie. Plays well. And has plenty on it that I love.

Sample Track: It’s A Shame
SpinnersThe Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
