Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Tarkus (1971)
I can barely even think about Emerson, Lake & Palmer these days (‘cept for right now, writing this) much less listen to them. Let’s see, the last time I thought about (and listened to) ELP was back at # 1798 on this countdown – when I found a copy of one of their records I had forgotten I owned. I’ve had this one for a long time and I haven’t played it for a lot longer…but I was a bit fan of ELP once. It was fleeting, but I hang onto the records for some reason. It’s tough-sell music I suppose. And barely music sometimes. But it’s rites-of-passage stuff and I went through a prog phase and was into showoff-musicianship and all of that. And some days I still dig it. And I’ll put this record on the next time I need curing of that I’m sure.
Sample Track: Tarkus
