The Academy of Ancient Music, Handel: Water Music (1978)
Lovely stuff Water Music – had a few different versions on CD, like a bit of Handel. You know, no experience, but I’ll have a look at it/er, listen to it…but just recently I was in Masterton (cunt of a joint) and making the best of a bad situation I found this second-hand trader and I loaded up on a bunch of really great $2 records. Bargains. All of ‘em. Well, almost all. I tried to cut a further deal with the chap in charge and he just said “Nah”. One price to rule them all. Said, “some of ‘em are a bit shit, like scratched and stuff, others are real good, ya know…” And I did know. And I took my chances. This is the only one I was on the fence with, didn’t really need it – didn’t think it looked that great (condition-wise) but figured fuckit. Paid for it with the others, dragged it home. Put it on the other week and it’s more like Waterslide Music. Took it off real quick. Totally couldn’t Handel.
Sample Track: The Whole Thing/Any Version At All [Just not the one on this particularly record]
