The Vinyl Countdown # 771

Phil Collins, …But Seriously (1989)
But SeriouslyI had to have this – I saw it in a shop in Hastings (natch) and I had to get it. The last Phil Collins album that it’s okay to listen to/own (well, there’s the live album from the tour in support of this record, but I have that already); certainly the last studio album by Phil you’re allowed to own. As an outed Phil Collins fan (mostly just a Face Value fan, really…) I have little to lose from announcing I own this. The shock might be that I didn’t have it already. Why did he put his face on (nearly) every fucking album cover? And why is that kick us bit of playing – those drums, those horns – missing from the vinyl version of this album? Oh well…I’ll probably struggle to get all the way through this more than once but it spoke to me. I had to have it. It spoke to me, probably something along the lines of: well, no one else is going to buy me!

Sample Track:  Something Happened On The Way To Heaven
BUtThe Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
