The Vinyl Countdown # 712

Allen Toussaint, Live in Philadelphia 1975 (2016)
rsdYesterday was Record Store Day and I took my boy down to Slow Boat to see Anika Moa. He loved it. We bought a few copies of her new album to give to cousins and friends and got her to sign them. And then I had just enough time and space and room to have a quick look at the exclusives – what was left of them. I nabbed this. I like to buy one new record on Record Store Day if/when I can – and Allen Toussaint. No complaints there. R.I.P. Allen. I had read about the release of this on the list of exclusives, and was interested…but didn’t know that I’d find it. There it was. One copy. And now it’s mine. Haven’t listened to it yet. But so looking forward to it. I’ll find a time, sometime soon, to sit down by the stereo, pour a drink and take this all in. A successful Record Store Day, a happy life, a great set of tunes to have and hold on to. Good times indeed. rsdddd
