The Vinyl Countdown # 668

The Trammps, Where The Happy People Go (1976)
Tram
So in love with The Trammps and in particular the Disco Inferno album/song I wrote this short story from the point of view of the hi-hat in that song. Um, yeah, well maybe that’s only for me to get, and so be it…but I also got this: the album from directly before Disco Inferno, released the same year. Some quality shit on here too. And Earl Young, the man driving that hi-hat and soul-love is on fine form here as the drummer and leader of the group. Love the mix of Philly soul and disco-funk that these guys churn so effortlessly. But it’s all about the drums for me with this group. Fine vocal harmonies, sure. Those great suits and boots and dance moves, definitely. The strings and things as well – okay. But it ain’t nothing without that slinky driving hi-hat.

Sample Track: Soul Searchin’ Time

The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
