Into Orbit, Unearthing (2017)
I think this is my first brand new (2017) album on vinyl…hand-delivered by a member of the band too. A nice touch. I’ve been a big supporter of these guys – I love what they do. I’ve followed them across the last few years from seeing an early gig through appearances at record stores to opening for internationals…I’ve had them on the podcast where they were talking about the earliest-days of this album; just getting to work on it in fact. And I’ve said quite enough about the album here in my recent review I’m sure. But the vinyl is a nice touch – and it was listening to the record (these guys care about things like design and artwork – so the vinyl format suits not only their sound but the overall look, feel and aesthetic) that finally got me to put click to clack and get a review down. I’d had an early copy of the Mp3s. Loved it right away – but didn’t just want to repeat the same ole tropes – I realise I’ve written about them A LOT already. But Into Orbit knocked it out of the park with this. And it’s worth hearing. And in this context, this format, worth having, worth holding onto.
