Monty Python, The Album of the Soundtrack of the Trailer of the Film of Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
Like quite a few of us, certain age/stage, I watched the re-runs of Monty Python and was hooked. Off to find the films, the albums, more of the show…to read books about them and by them, to see the other films and shows featuring these players. I was hooked. I am not one of those grown-men-that-quote-Monty-Python-endlessly. But I’ve met them. Almost admire them. Am also scared of them, scarred by them, and have my own version of that particular ‘quirk’. I am not a comedy-record obsessive, but I nearly was for a time there. At one point in my life I heard so much music, daily, all day, and most of the night, that comedy records were a salvation – so used to putting on an album but not wanting to hear music. They filled a gap. Well, just recently someone sent me this. He was shedding his collection and knew I still had one – and I’m happy to have this. Though not sure when I’ll play it. I will of course. And I’ll love it, at least for a bit.
