The Vinyl Countdown # 439

BadBadNotGood, Seasons [Single] (2017)
R-10853390-1505560904-9771.jpeg
A self-released single – limited to 500 apparently, and sold by the band at their shows. Well, I was in. The show was okay, pretty good, not great but definitely not bad at all – and I’m a fan of BadBadNotGood for their albums and their ethic. These young lads are working hard, bringing jazz to people that (presumably) don’t listen to jazz. Adding hip-hop and R’n’B and some shades of pop and calling it music – rather than fixating on any one genre-fix. I like all of that. And so this was a nice wee fun souvenir to nab – a keepsake. They sold heaps – and many people lined up to get them signed. I R-10853390-1505560905-5306.jpeglike signed records. Sure. But I felt way too old to stand in line to get this whitey signed (by those whiteys, to this whitey…)

Sample Track 1: (Side A): Seasons (Future Islands Remix)

Sample Track 2: (Side B): Shame (Madlib x Freddie Gibbs Remix)
The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
