When The Cat’s Away, Sanctified [Single] (1987)
Bought as part of a package deal – a few singles all at once, I got this because, well, I do have fond memories of When The Cat’s Away, such a big deal for a time. I was into them. I have seen the recent version of the band (3/5s of the original line-up) and they still deliver a good show; I’ve spoken with a couple of them for the podcast and plan to speak to a couple more for sure. And this was a non-album single. It’s backed by a cover of Cher’s Gysies, Tramps and Thieves. It’s by no means an essential item – but I’m pleased to have it. The A-side is kick-ass for sure.
The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
