The Vinyl Countdown # 365

Phil Judd, Rendezvous [Single] (1983)
They say “never meet your heroes” – I don’t agree. I’ve been lucky to meet a few; to interview some, sit on a panel with others, even had one stay at my house once…amazing. All good things. But perhaps don’t ask your heroes about your favourite things you think they’ve done. I once asked Phil Judd – it was the first time I talked to him (a phone interview that lasted a couple of hours) about his Private Lives album; it wasn’t fond memories. But I like the music that came from it. We all have different perspectives though – I don’t think he was happy with anything else going on around it, as much as it was about the music. And that’s something you can never really know as the outsider. I found this – a single from that album – just recently. I reckon it’s a great wee tune!

Sample Track: Rendezvous
The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
