The Vinyl Countdown # 320

Nilsson, Early Years (1966)
I feel like I have to give it an honest try to hear everything by Nilsson. I love Harry Nilsson. Strange story. Problematic guy. A mess. Beaut singer and songwriter and covers artist. The works. But a mess. And I’m hooked on hearing his covers and originals – his last drunken messy stuff and his early pop gems. Everything. All points between. So to this – a reissue of his first album, originally called Spotlight On Nilsson – it collects his early singles. Some great wee two-minute pop ditties from between 1964 and 1966. Maybe it’s not essential. But it is to me.

Sample Track: So You Think You’ve Got Troubles
The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
