Hank Snow, Snow in Hawaii (1967)
I could tell you I am some sort of Hank Snow fan – and though that’s true I couldn’t tell you that I planned to own this album. It was a classic impulse buy, everything lined up – the title grabbed me, Hawaii is of interest lately (a planned holiday on the horizon, etc) and the price was right (bargain bin) and it was the whim of being in a record store in another city and so it came to be that I now have this. But it’s great. I was instantly hooked. A wee novelty record from a country great – one of three albums he recorded that year (another of them was a Christmas record). I look forward to giving this many more spins.
Sample Track: Hula Love
