The Vinyl Countdown # 280

Trini Lopez featuring The Ventures + Nancy Ames, The Trini Lopez Show [OST] (1968)
There’s never anything but joy when I hear Trini Lopez – obviously there’s The Classic Album – and that’s my all-time favourite from him, sure. But it hasn’t stopped me hunting out more. Including this, the latest to my collection – the soundtrack to his TV show, featuring Nancy Ames and The Ventures. Side one features a killer medley and Trini knows how to do medleys. All the favourites. In for a good time. Not a long time. There’s just such a wonderful vibe about this guy. If it started as any sort of guilty pleasure – and I’m not sure it did – it certainly moved on from that. Quickly.

Sample Track: Light My Fire (Trini Lopez w/ The Ventures)
The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
