The Shadows, Jigsaw (1967)
I fucking love The Shadows. On a level where I actually can’t understand it if you don’t. To me, if a person does not think The Shadows are super-fucking-great I’m forced to contemplate whether that person is even real. I mean – they breathe. Eat. Sleep. Shit. Sure. But are they a person? Someone once told me that it was because of their association with Cliff Richard that some people have some trouble with the band. But that makes No Sense. Because Cliff is fucking fantastic! Anyway, I very much like this – the band’s sixth album. It finds them offering up a range of instrumental covers as the sixties were getting psychedelic. And I reckon it’s killer-good.
Sample Track: Tennessee Waltz
