The Vinyl Countdown # 1535

Jeff Beck, Wired (1976)

I’m in the shop just the other day. And the guy sees me looking at this album; a new, fresh copy. And he says “no Simon, you don’t need that. Put it down”. And I say, “of course I don’t *need* it – I already have it”. At this point I’m stroking the sealed cover. I’m about to light the fire, get a blanket, put a saucer of milk in the microwave – you know, because, well, it might be a case of, er, it followed me home. Right? Right? But the man in the shop was right – this hardly ever happens so I allowed him his moment. I mean my copy of the album still works. And I still play it – and that’s all I need. Man I love Jeff Beck.

Sample Track: Love Is Green

The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
