The Vinyl Countdown # 153

Beach Boys, Good Vibrations (1975)
You know you’re one of the tragic few – a real fan with more dollars than sense as they say when you buy a compilation like this. To be fair I bought this for $2 and it would only have ever been a bargain at half the price. The Beach Boys – one of my all-time favourite acts. This compilation? A steaming turd, surreal song selection – from the classic title track to oddities like covers of The Monster Mash and Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow. Some rhyme then, but no reason. Still. I love the band and I’m collecting up the things. And this one got in my way so I grabbed it.

Sample Track: Finders Keepers
The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
