Kate Bush, Lionheart (1978)
For all the talk of The Kick Inside as a wonderful debut from a young talent; which it is – and of course anyone – at any age – should wish they could write a song like The Man With The Child In His Eyes it’s worth remembering that Lionheart, the follow-up, the “difficult second album” came out that same year, Kate Bush only just saying goodbye to her teens, many of these songs written with (and around) that Kick Inside material. I listen to all of the Kate Bush albums – I love the slow-comeback albums since 2005 – my favourite, absolutely, is Hounds of Love but Lionheart is great; as is Never For Ever and pretty much everything
she’s released. I bought a stack of Kate Bush records in one go (this being one of them). The person at the counter figured me a bit of a freak. So be it.
Sample Track: Wow
