Billy Joel, The Nylon Curtain (1982)
I hate Billy Joel. I mean, I really hate Billy Joel. But I almost just caught myself singing along to Allentown and even a shit-shit song (ie: shit by his standards) – say: Pressure is still trying to rip off The Beatles. He heads for the Beatles whenever he heads for the middle of the tune; that’s how you know he’s heading for the middle of the tune. Music For Music Teachers is what I’ve always thought. Ah, but that’s because I had a music teacher who tried to get us all to sing River of Dreams. Fucking Awful! None of this explains why I have this album.
Sample Track: Goodnight Saigon
