Outkast, ATLiens (1996)
Still riding high on my Outkast kick – each album has its own feel, they never repeated themselves, so many flavours within the sound of the band. Here’s the thing, I can tell you quite happily, honestly, that ATLiens is not my favourite Outkast album. It’s not even in my Top 3. And yet that still doesn’t – at all – mean that I don’t like it. I dig this album plenty. And I’m really happy to have the double-vinyl, been reminding myself of all sorts of great songs. Because, well, I do prefer a lot of the other Outkast records, so that means that when I come back to this I find there are more tunes that have slipped through the cracks. A lot to enjoy here. More than I remember from when I was first buzzing out over this album back about 13 years ago or so.
