The Vinyl Countdown # 1114

The Triffids, Falling Over You [Single] (1989)
Triffids Falling
I can’t think of any bands that I like but do not own a thing by – but The Triffids come very close. You see, the only piece of music I own by this great Australian band – so far anyway – is this 7” single; taken from the band’s Black Swan album. I don’t own the parent album, never had the tape or CD, never had any of the other albums either – not even the great Born Sandy Devotional. What’s wrong with me? I don’t know – or at least don’t have time to go into all of that right now. But I do know that this is the only thing I’ve ever found by The Triffids when I’ve actually been looking for their music. And yes, I want more. Mostly I’ve had my fix from documentaries and borrowing albums, from hearing bits and pieces here and there. But I do need more. Do I love this song the most? Not at all. But  it was runs on the board…

Sample Track: Falling Over You

The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
