The Vinyl Countdown # 1058

V/A, Slaves of New York [OST]  (1989)
Slaves of NY OST
I bought this in a closing-down sale – 10c. I have never seen the film – but the trailer both makes me want to see it and puts me off. I have no idea why I bought this – could be any number of reasons (beyond the 10 for $1 deal – and my ongoing obsession with soundtracks). It could have been because there’s a track by PiL or Iggy Pop or even Ziggy Marley. But what is most certainly wonderful is that it has Buffalo Stance by Neneh Cherry – I found that last night and played it as part of this DJ Set. There’s lot of other cool stuff on this album too. A bargain at twice the price I’m sure! Anyone seen the film? Can you recommend it?

Sample Track: Tongue Dance (Les Rita Mitsouko)

The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
