The crew from Phantom Billstickers have sent issue number three of the Café Reader out to the streets. You’ll find it in music stores, cafés, bars and restaurants around your town. If you can’t find it let them know I reckon they’ll find a way to get a copy to you. It’s a FREE magazine and as with issue # 1 and issue # 2 it’s chock full of great writing.
I’m chuffed to be part of it once again – I’ve got a short-story near the back of the magazine; a piece called Deceiving April.
But what a line-up of writers and contributors, I feel very privileged to be part of it.
Issue # 3 features the work of Garth Cartwright, Hi Newman, Jim Wilson, Sam Hunt, George Henderson, Tuisata Avia, Tourettes, Chris Moar, Jeanne Bernhardt, Alice Anderson, Jeffery Paparoa Holman, Liz Breslin, Jenny Powell, Brett Lupton, Richard Langston, Bruce Mahalaski and Anahera Gildea.
Once again you’ll find glimpses of memoir, essays, poems and stories and this issue – the Winter Edition for 2014 – features a great cover image by Hayley Theyers, her picture of Graeme Downes.
Thanks Phantom for doing the good thing – giving words to people, giving people a way to share words.
Get there and find a copy and enjoy it – then pass it on, send it offshore, leave it on a bus or on your seat when you leave the theatre, spread the word/s.
