The Dillinger Escape Plan: Two NZ Shows (Aug 2015)

DillingAmerican hardcore act, The Dillinger Escape Plan has announced two New Zealand shows in August. They’ll be playing Auckland’s Kings Arms, August 25 and the following night, August 26 in Valhalla, Wellington.

An intense band, capable of covering electronica and melding jazz, punk and metal influences to make an experimental and pulsing music, The Dillinger Escape Plan has been pulverising ears – in the best possible way – for nearly 20 years now.

Being a massive Mike Patton fan I was first introduced to the band when Patton guestedDil on the Irony Is A Dead Scene EP, I love that recording. But it also gave me a chance to move backwards and forwards through the band’s catalogue. So many great worlds of music there. And a special treat for Wellingtonians seeing the group in the intimate Valhalla. A great venue for it.

Can’t wait. A must-see gig. For sure.
