The late 1970s/early 1980s, the punk and post-punk, that’s the era/s and genre/s were I’m going to come up short in this challenge – and it’s the stuff I love; but I guess, age-wise, it’s a case of loving it now more so than then. So this is where you get situations like this: I’d tell you I love The Stranglers (and I do) yet I’ve never heard this, their debut. A classic. I know most of the music on it – from compilations, from their great run of singles and from seeing the latter-day version of the band live (a great gig by the way).
But I’m a sucker for hearing the album – the original album, particularly the starting point of a band like this.
So here I am. Finally.
And over the last few weeks I’ve been playing this a heap.
