The 1001 Albums Challenge # 120: Barry Adamson – “Moss Side Story”

I already know I’ll be listening to this a lot more – I love it. Instantly. Which is no great surprise. I used to have a few Barry Adamson solo albums – and have followed most of his work and appearances. Anyone that can play with the range of artists and engage with a range of audience such as he is of interest to me. I love a multi-instrumental, multi-disciplinary, multi-platform approach.

And the concept here is cool too – basically a fake/imaginary soundtrack. I only wish I could find the original to read Dave Graney’s liners – as I’m a huge fan of a lot of his work too.

But this reminds me of some of Trevor Jones’ actual soundtrack work. Chuck in a bit of 1980s/1990s John Zorn too.

That’s a total winner for me. As is this!
