Gig Review: Fleetwood Mac (September 12, Akld)

Fleetwood Mac Spark Arena, Auckland Thursday, September 12 I was so into this – and very nervous. I’m a mega Fleetwood Mac fan, I love all periods of the band, all versions. But it’s ten years since I last saw them (back when Lindsey Buckingham was still front and centre) and I just had to […]

Stubs: # 228 – Bob Dylan, Auckland, 2018

There was just an urge. An absolute urge. I had to see Bob Dylan again. I’d seen him three times – but not for years. In fact it was 20 years since my first time seeing him and at least a decade since my last… But I had never travelled to see him – and I just got the […]

RNZ Reviews: Bob Dylan Gig Review (August, 2018)

Earlier this year I got hooked – all over again – on Bob Dylan. I’m never not hooked on Bob Dylan by the way. I was turned onto his music as a teenager, or maybe at age 12 even. And since then I’ve been a fan. But obviously, when you listen to music obsessively, you can carry a […]

Gig Review: Bob Dylan (August 26; Akld)

Bob Dylan Spark Arena Sunday, August 26 It was my fourth time seeing Bob Dylan – my first in over a decade, first away-gig too; he gave up on Wellington after the 2007 leg of his Never-Ending Tour, he’s been back to New Zealand two or three times since. But I really felt the need […]

Gig Review: Midnight Oil (September 9; Akld)

Midnight Oil Spark Arena; Auckland Saturday, September 9 I’ll admit straight up it was always a dream to see Midnight Oil, they’ve a constant in my life since I was 10 years old, maybe younger even. But the first tape I ever bought was Diesel and Dust and from then I’ve forever been a fan. […]

Lionel Richie and Nile Rodgers (CHIC) to Play Two NZ Shows: Akld and ChCh (Oct, 2017)

It’s called the All The His tour and it’ll be a great, great show. Lionel Richie is a terrific live act, all those great songs from his solo albums and the Commodores years. He’s also one of my all-time favourite interviews. And a great show he played in Wellington in 2011. He’s no stranger to […]
