Sweetman Podcast: Episode 93 – Vorn Colgan

headshWelcome to episode 93 of Sweetman Podcast with support from our sponsors – T Leaf T, Yeastie Boys and Le Petite Chocolat.

This one is a conversation with Vorn Colgan – he records and makes music as a solo artist and with a band under the name Vorn. He’s also a member of Gold Medal Famous and the Wellington Sea Shanty Society.

He’s made plenty of albums – they’re worth checking out, all of them – most recently he and his band created an ‘album’ that only exists as a live-in-studio performance on YouTube.

They’re about to take that about for some shows – firstly at MOON 1 in Newtown next weekend, Saturday December 16.Gold-Medal-Famous-Activity-colour-web-e1495762800522

One thing we didn’t cover in our chat here, but I wanted to mention it, is that Vorn is a great writer – of blog-posts, essays, thoughts…he has an ongoing series about rugby’s dominance on and over Kiwi culture and for a snapshot of some of his great writing you can check out two posts he did for my site – five albums and five films. Great writing.

Vorn and I had a great talk about making music, about working day-jobs, travelling, finding influence/s and so many other things. I hope you enjoy it too.

You’ve found this via the link on Facebook or Twitter and/or from the Off The Tracks website – it’s hosted at Soundcloud and to receive the episodes before you even get to these show notes you can subscribe on iTunes. You can also rate and review the podcast there.

Please enjoy episode 93 of Sweetman Podcast, my conversation with Vorn Colgan.
