Sweetman Podcast: Episode 91 – Shelagh Magadza (Again!)

Shelagh-MagadzaWelcome to episode 91 of Sweetman Podcast with support from our sponsors – T Leaf T, Yeastie Boys and Le Petite Chocolat.

This conversation is me chatting once again with the Artistic Director of the NZ Festival and Wellington Jazz Festival, Shelagh Magadza.

We spoke for the first time back on episode 65 of the podcast. Where that was mostly around the Jazz Festival (and includes some chat regarding her background – which is why I’m re-sharing the link) we focussed this time solely on The New Zealand Festival (aka The Arts Festival). It’s running in 2018 across February and March and so Shelagh and I sat down and talked through the shows, the events, the venues, the staging, the planning, the frustration, the joy.

It’s a huge job.image001

It’s also Shelagh’s last festival – she’s moving on. She will be missed. Her passion for the arts, her knowledge, her enthusiasm, her commitment – all of it will be missed.

So it was nice to sit down with her as a repeat guest and to talk up and talk through next year’s festival. Here’s the link to the program of events – maybe you want to buy someone a ticket as a Christmas present, or start loading up on wishlist shows for yourself.

I really enjoyed talking once again with Shelagh. And I hope you enjoy our conversation too.

You’ve found this via the link on Facebook or Twitter and/or from the Off The Tracks website – it’s hosted at Soundcloud and to receive the episodes before you even get to these show notes you can subscribe on iTunes. You can also rate and review the podcast there.

Please enjoy episode 91 of Sweetman Podcast, my (second) conversation with Shelagh Magadza.
