Sweetman Podcast: Episode 3 – Booga Beazley

bogWelcome to the third episode of Sweetman Podcast. This time it’s a chat with Booga Beazley. I first met the Head Like A Hole frontperson when the band reformed for Homegrown and I wrote a Day In The Life-story after spending a day with him in his Otaki home – having been a fan of his music, I then got to know him as a friend.

Head Like A Hole are about to hit road again, this time with 8 Foot Sativa and in support of their second “comeback” album, Narcocorrido.

So, in a long chat we of course talked about that new album and the tour an the long, Booga Picjagged, jaded history of HLAH. But we talked, mostly, about Booga. How he became Booga, instead of Nigel Beazley, and how he embodies Booga – a man and myth, a quiet, quite shy guy when he’s not playing the character. A larger than life character on the stage and when he’s raging about anything and everything in preparation for his ongoing role as “Booga Beazley”.

This episode is around two hours long.

It’s a fun chat I reckon. I hope you enjoy it.

I really enjoyed this episode. It was great to hear him talk so candidly about his feelings on the recording of the latest album, and the issues with bandmates. I only wish you’d talked to him about Tom Watson – I really liked the albums he was involved with, particularlu Double Your Strength, and would have liked to know why he was or wasn’t involved in the reunion and new material.
