Sweetman Podcast: Episode 23 – Ben Fulton

Ben-asWe’re up to episode 23 of Sweetman Podcast – a chat with my friend Ben Fulton. He’s a musician and he makes guitar pedals, his company is Red Witch Analog Guitar Pedals. He’s also played music with Paul Ubana Jones and Jan Hellriegel, Ahoribuzz and The Hairy Lollies. He released a solo album, collaborated with Wild Bill Ricketts, toured New Zealand as a singer/songwriter, created the covers band Funkatron and currently has musical projects on the go that include TITAN, The Bones and a Led Zeppelin covers act, Lead Zeppelin.

Ben’s also one of my oldest friends. We attended the same high school for a year, but really got to know each other at university. Red Witch Pedals

We played in a band for a wee bit, a couple of bands I guess…we were also playing in bands at the same time, on something of a circuit.

From there I’ve watched him develop his skills, diversify with his music and build great products under an internationally recognised and well respected company. I’m proud of him as a friend. So it was a real thrill to sit and talk through some of the things I already knew – but to also learn so much…

Check out the Red Witch Facebook page for more details.RedWitch

Also Ben’s current group, TITAN, is playing this weekend in Napier at the Cabana.

You’ve found this podcast via the link on Facebook or Twitter and/or from the Off The Tracks website – it’s hosted at Soundcloud and to receive the episodes before you even get to these show notes you can subscribe on iTunes. Day-time visitors to the den get to have coffee thanks to L’affare or, later in the day, they can have a beer from the wonderful Yeastie Boys. My thanks as always to these great sponsors.

I hope you like episode 23 of Sweetman Podcast, my conversation with Ben Fulton, guitarist and guitar-pedal maker.
