Here’s a conversation I had with Graeme Jefferies – he’s a musician behind the band The CakeKitchen. He’s also been part of a few bands with his brother Peter Jefferies including Nocturnal Projections and This Kind of Punishment.
Graeme has recently published his memoir.
This was my first time meeting him. I’ve seen him perform as The CakeKitchen and been a fan of a lot of his music over the years – we have corresponded online and yet we had never met until this conversation.
We got into it all really – from the CakeKitchen operating out of Berlin for many years and touring Europe and America with the likes of The Mountain Goats and Cat Power being the opening acts, all the way back to when Peter and Graeme were knocking about on cheap drums and acoustics in Taranaki with a supportive mother enabling their first musical creations.
Graeme also talked about the writing of his book.
It was a great conversation and wonderful to finally meet Mr. CakeKitchen.
So I hope you enjoy hearing this also.
