Sweetman Podcast: Episode 113 – Lisa Harrow

MV5BMTU5MjA4Mjk0Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwNDUyNzQwMzE@._V1_UY317_CR51,0,214,317_AL_Welcome to episode 113 of Sweetman Podcast with support from our sponsors – T Leaf T, Yeastie Boys and Le Petite Chocolat.

I met Lisa Harrow in the green room at Circa Theatre. She is acting royalty. I couldn’t believe my luck – that she had agreed to a long conversation for the podcast. Well, then, as soon as I met her I understood how this could happen. She was funny and wise, charming, engaged, engaging – everything you’d expect and want in a conversation partner/interview subject.

She has a great story too. Born in Auckland and then off to follow a dream – not to be an actor as such, merely to perform one particular role. Well, 50+ years on she continues to be an actor across stage and screen – though theatre is her first love.

We talked theatre training and life as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company, those BBC productions and the movies – cult classics, turkeys and the critically acclaimed. She’s done it all.

She divides her time between America and New Zealand, and was here to perform in the amazing production, At The Wake, her professional stage debut in Wellington. She even had a wonderful story about opening night. We start there.

And talk about almost everything else…

I loved meeting Lisa and talking with her for the podcast. I hope you enjoy this too.

Here is episode 113 of Sweetman Podcast, my conversation with acting legend Lisa Harrow.
