Sweetman Podcast # 273: Dai Henwood

Hi and welcome to episode 273 of Sweetman Podcast – finding my way back into podcasting after a nearly three-month break. As with last year’s lockdowns I paused the podcast. But we’re back now – at least through until the end of the year.

Now – as you probably know, as well as the usual platforms (this site, soundcloud, iTunes/Apple) you can get to Sweetman Podcast on Spotify – follow it there and have it saved in your Spotify library. It’s on most of the podcast platforms besides the ones mentioned here.

For this one, I had a chat on the phone to Dai Henwood. You know him from his many TV appearances as panel-host on Seven Days, as gameshow host, as commentator and comedian and of course his long history of stand-up comedy. He’s the son of actor Ray Henwood and his mother Carolyn is a judge and continues to serve on the board of Circa Theatre.

I have never met Dai and this is our first ever conversation.

We arranged this through a mutual friend – and sat down earlier this week on the phone to talk about Lockdown and Covid and Anti-Vax protests and the absurdity of modern life, including Twitter and social media use.

We moved all around – hip-hop, comedy, sobriety, health, family – and it was a great conversation. Certainly the longest one I’ve ever had with someone that I’ve given a negative review.

What a great pleasure it was to talk to Dai – to ‘meet’ him this way. I loved this chat. And I hope you do too.
