Now – as you probably know, as well as the usual platforms (this site, soundcloud, iTunes/Apple) you can get to Sweetman Podcast on Spotify – follow it there and have it saved in your Spotify library. It’s on most of the podcast platforms besides the ones mentioned here.
This week I chatted to filmmaker Florian Habicht – for a list of his films see here. I’m a fan of Florian’s work – have seen most of it – but we had never met. I had interviewed him one time though. Around the time of his documentary about the band Pulp we did a phoner when he was based overseas. It was a great chat. So I include that link back there if you want to check that out.
Florian was in Wellington for a day recently to plug his brand new film, the delightful doco James & Isey – it’s in cinemas now and you should see it. We talk about the film quite a bit as part of this chat.
We jump around, don’t cover every movie but do tick a few off the list – and also talk about Florian’s childhood, a brief obsession with the band Queen, his time at art school – leading him to the world of filmmaking.
I loved this conversation – ending in a quirky, Florian Habicht-documentary type-of-way too. So listen out for that.
This is episode 257 of the podcast. My conversation with Florian Habicht.
