Sweetman Podcast # 224: Rachel McAlpine

Welcome to episode 224 of Sweetman Podcast with support from our sponsors – T Leaf T and Yeastie Boys

Now – as you probably know, as well as the usual platforms (this site, soundcloud, iTunes/Apple) you can now get to Sweetman Podcast on Spotify – follow it there and have it saved in your Spotify library.

This week I had a conversation with the writer Rachel McAlpine.

You can check out Rachel’s blogging and podcasts at her site.

You should also check out her new book of poems, How To Be Old, which I loved!

Rachel’s first book of poems was published in 1975. Since then she’s written novels, non-fiction, plays, and more poems. She is a force of nature. And a terrific writer.

We chatted a lot about Rachel’s brand new book and the research and epiphany that went into shaping it. And she reads some of the poems from the book. But we also had a nice chat about a few other things besides; particularly the writer’s life – a writing life.
