Sweetman Podcast # 195: Linda Burgess

Welcome to episode 195 of Sweetman Podcast with support from our sponsors – T Leaf T, Yeastie Boys and La Petite Chocolat.

Now – as you probably know, as well as the usual platforms (this site, soundcloud, iTunes/Apple) you can now get to Sweetman Podcast on Spotify – follow it there and have it saved in your Spotify library.

Here I had a chat with Linda Burgess – she’s an author, journalist, script-writer…she has been a TV critic at The Dominion Post and on RNZ at the same time that I was a music critic at the paper and am a music critic on the radio and yet we’d never met. So as soon as I read – and loved – her latest book, Someone’s Wife, I knew the time had come: I had to meet her and have a chat. I’d read some of her other work too, by the way, I’d followed her words for years in fact. But now was the time.

We had a lovely chat.

I visited Linda at her Wellington home. She fed me. And then we sat down to chat about family and life and writing, about review-writing and response to criticism. And then, in and around that, about many things.

I really loved this conversation. And it was a great thrill to meet Linda, and her husband Bob. And to have this chat.

Here now is episode 195 of Sweetman Podcast – my chat with Linda Burgess.
