Sweetman Podcast # 193: Sean Plunket

Welcome to episode 193 of Sweetman Podcast with support from our sponsors – T Leaf T, Yeastie Boys and La Petite Chocolat.

Now – as you probably know, as well as the usual platforms (this site, soundcloud, iTunes/Apple) you can now get to Sweetman Podcast on Spotify – follow it there and have it saved in your Spotify library.

This is a conversation between me and Sean Plunket. You know him as a “controversial” broadcaster – he’s been on TV and radio for many years (Fair Go, RNZ, NewstalkZB, Magic) and he’s moved from serious political interviewer (one of our very best) to a “shock jock” role campaigning around Free Speech and running talkback.

I’d never met Sean but had spoken to him for his radio shows a few times and we’d talked online – we were aware of each other…

But I put the call out to speak to him and he responded straight away; like a man that’s made a living talking (and often about himself). A week later he was here, at the door with a bottle of wine and plenty of stories to tell.

I really enjoyed this conversation and whatever you might think of his work – and where he’s at now – I’d urge you to have a listen to this. Outside of Sean’s story there’s a great recent history of New Zealand politics, broadcasting and the changes to both.

I hope you like hearing this conversation too.

Here now is episode 193 of Sweetman Podcast – my chat with Sean Plunket.
