Sweetman Podcast # 192: Joan As Police Woman

Welcome to episode 192 of Sweetman Podcast with support from our sponsors – T Leaf T, Yeastie Boys and La Petite Chocolat.

Now – as you probably know, as well as the usual platforms (this site, soundcloud, iTunes/Apple) you can now get to Sweetman Podcast on Spotify – follow it there and have it saved in your Spotify library.

Here I had a conversation with Joan As Police Woman. Yes! She was in town to play a show in support of her “Joanthology” compilation and I was lucky to get to meet her, to spend some time with her and to have this conversation.

When the first Joan As Police Woman album was released it stopped my world. I was hooked. Sold instantly. And I’ve been a fan ever since. I remind her in this podcast that I contacted her on MySpace suggesting she come and play in New Zealand. She wrote back saying she was keen, she was trying. Some 13 years after that brief contact I found myself driving her around Wellington, loaning her a recyclable shopping bag (which she brought to the gig, offering to return it to me) and having her throw dog toys in my house for Bowie the Schnoodle. An amazing sequence of events.

It was a great chat. I was very pleased to have it. Very grateful to Joan’s NZ promoter and publicists and of course to Joan herself.

I hope you enjoy hearing this conversation.

Here now is episode 192 of Sweetman Podcast – my chat with Joan As Police Woman.
