Now – as you probably know, as well as the usual platforms (this site, soundcloud, iTunes/Apple) you can now get to Sweetman Podcast on Spotify – follow it there and have it saved in your Spotify library.
Jerome Chandrahasen is a Wellington-based comedian (well, “The Hutt”). I had never met him before but I had seen him do comedy – at least once. He’s been a fixture on the local scene for over a decade, an MC at regular open-mic nights, having been the new boy once upon a time…
We had a great chat here I thought. Talking about his move from school debating team to comedy – and the initiatives he put in place, establishing a local comedy trust and ensuring people get paid for their efforts.
I was keen to talk to Jerome – and we cover this deep into this podcast episode – because of an amazing performance he offered at the Litcrawl festival last year. He’s impressed me when he’s been on RNZ as part of “The Panel”. And I was also interested in the fact he was living, full-time, as a comic.
We got into all sorts of good conversational nooks here: mental health, comedy icons, great gigs – including music; reviews, reviewing…
I really enjoyed this chat. And it was a pleasure meeting and hosting Jerome. Check him out here.
And check out this episode.
