This week it’s a chat with poet Sugar Magnolia Wilson. Her recently released book Because A Woman’s Heart Is Like A Needle At The Bottom Of The Ocean really knocked me out; made a huge impact. So I wanted to meet her and talk to her.
We had a great chat – about her life and work and about other poetry, about writing, about music…
Just when I thought the conversation was coming to its natural conclusion we relaunched – this time addressing critics and criticism, and I guess in some ways you’ll hear the switch, the boot being on the other foot, I’m more the interviewee. My apologies to regular listeners that have heard the stories of my “run ins” with the likes of Robbie Williams and Aldous Harding, or Aldous Harding fans.
I loved this conversation. I’m glad Sugar Magnolia read some of her work – and I hope you enjoy the poems and this chat. Please do check out her work and the book. It’s wonderful.
Here now is my conversation with Sugar Magnolia Wilson
