Stubs: # 279 – Queen Elizabeth Park: Miniature Train, Masterton, 2021

I’ve long thought of Masterton as something of a shithole. Based almost entirely on the evidence gathered from walking around that dump. But that was then. Now, it’s okay. Visit the place – as I’ve done this year and last – with a kid or two in tow and you have the excellent Queen Elizabeth Park and within it the even more excellent miniature train ride.

We love the train. The whole family’s been on it. And by that I mean the dog as well. Dogs are welcome. There’s a Facebook page and apparently they post a few dog pics there eh. Lol.

We were in Masterton last week for the day – visited a good book shop, had a look around town (even the main street was better than I previously remembered it) and then to the park. It was hot. Fucking hot. And a train ride or two was a good thing to do. Try it out I reckon. Decent. $1. That’s a bargain.
