Stubs: # 241 – The Beat & The Selecter, Wellington, 2018

It was a double-bill, in fact they were taking turns to headline (a cool idea). I reckon The Selecter might have had the better energy all up but The Beat had more songs that resonated with this crowd; so Wellington was lucky to get that order – The Selecter first and The Beat second.

Shit it was a good show.

And I was enough of a fan of both bands to be curious, to be into it, but it surpassed my expectations. And I became even more of a fan of The Selecter as a result.

It was a stinking-hot night too. Really muggy, intense.

I met my mate Jon for a beer beforehand.

Fucking good show, this. One of the best I’ve seen in recent times actually.
Stubs is an occasional feature here at Off The Tracks – looking back through the ticket-stub box and remembering how the show went down.
