I’ve written about Rhian Sheehan a bunch of times here – including already as part of ‘Stubs’. This show though, was a real special one – I loved it – it was the first (and at this stage only) live version of songs from the Stories From Elsewhere album with some of the earlier pieces too. A one-off live show with Orchestra Wellington. A real spectacle, an audio-visual extravaganza. We had, earlier that day, hosted Oscar’s second birthday party. So we were elated, exhausted and this was perhaps the very best thing to go out and see – that valedictorian feel that the rise and swell of some of Rhian’s pieces have, well it felt like the right way to cap off a great day. You can check out Rhian talking about his live shows, among other things, as part of my podcast episode with him.
Stubs is an occasional feature here at Off The Tracks – looking back through the ticket-stub box and remembering how the show went down.
